As VALORANT begins its growth outside of the beta more and more esports organisations begin to invest into the fledgeling scene.
100 Thieves already made headlines everywhere when they signed the former CS:GO veteran Spencer “Hiko” Martin at the beginning of June. Now they have completed their roster with quite a lot of familiar faces.
Joining Hiko will be four former PUBG players:
- Keane “Valliate” Alonso – Last active for Spacestation Gaming
- Zachary “Venerated” Roach – Last active for Team Envy
- Diondre “YaBoiDre” Bond – Last active for Tempo Storm
- Alfred “Pride” Cho – Last active for Team Envy
G2 sign paTiTek and pyth
The Thieves are not the only organisation gearing up for VALORANT. G2 Esports have also announced more signings, following after Oscar “mixwell” Cañellas Colocho’s transfer.
Joining the Spanish former CS:GO player will be Patryk “paTiTek” Fabrowski and Jacob “pyth” Mourujärvi. Both are also former CS:GO players and will be joining mixwell at G2. While paTiTek never quite made it to the top of the Counter-Strike world, pyth is among the household Swedish names in the scene. He was part of the Ninjas in Pyjamas roster that won multiple titles during 2016. A hand injury forced him into a break later the same year and he was eventually benched and replaced in 2017.
Together with mixwell G2 has now gathered three former CS:GO players to their roster and we might expect more to follow.
FaZe Clan enters VALORANT
To round out the flurry of transfer news the legendary esports organisation FaZe Clan has announced their entry into VALORANT:
Announcing two players in short succession, the team is ready to “FaZe Up” in Riot’s new FPS. Led by Jason “jasonR” Ruchelski, a former CS:GO pro and Corey “corey” Nigra who last played for Washington Justice in the Overwatch League, FaZe Clan will be another pioneer in the young scene.
