2 NA Dota Pro Circuit teams banned for match fixing

Two Lower Division teams in North American have been banned by BeyondTheSummit for match fixing during the second season of the Dota Pro Circuit. Wind and Rain as well as Pecado Squad Gaming were disqualified and banned as the second season concluded.

First reports regarding match fixing had made their rounds a week ago on Reddit. After an investigation organizer BeyondTheSummit and publisher Valve seem to concur on those suspicions. With Pecado Squad Gaming also convicted, match fixing continues to plagues the lower tiers of the Dota 2 scene. Even with lifetime bans as deterrent cases of match fixing continue to persist.

In a statement on Reddit Wind and Rain’s yol claims to be innocent, position 5 player Szabo also defended himself on Twitter against the accusations. As the roster’s member have changed throughout the season it is not yet clear which players exactly are banned.

We will update the article accordingly once more information becomes available.
