The gunplay in Apex Legends is extremely varied, and no matter your playstyle, there’s a combination of weapons that’s tailored for you.
We’ve talked about why we think Apex Legends is the best Battle Royale, and gunplay was one of the deciding factors. That being said, different guns require different playstyles, and the various snipers require small tweaks in operating them.
Find your preferred sniper
No two snipers feel the same. There’s a big difference between a Kraber -which is only available in care packages- and a Scout. Different damage outputs, different rates of fire, different options. There are also different sniper scopes that, depending on the gun you use, could be more efficient than your first choice.
Some snipers are surprisingly effective at close range as well, so make sure you try out all the sniper rifles before you commit. Combine your preferred sniper with practice. Practice makes perfect.
Take your time
Sure, highlight videos with quickscopes and noscopes are entertaining, but you do the most damage to the opposing teams by taking your time. Apex Legends has bullet drop and bullet travel time, so depending on your angle and distance from the target, you will need to adjust. Aim higher and in front of your target. Lead the opponent, don’t follow.
Know the best spots
Certain areas on the Apex Legends maps are made for sniping. You can wreak havoc from high vantage points that aren’t easily accessible. Playing Pathfinder for example can get you to superior positions that other Legends have trouble reaching. Find the right spot, settle in, and level up that armor!
