5. Mark to sell to speed up selling
Players will come across loot they’ll want to sell off for metal shards during their journey, but as the bag gets more full, selling can become bothersome. Instead make use of the Mark to Sell feature, which allows you to trade in items in bulk. Some items are made specifically to be sold and serve no other use, so be sure to get rid of them.
4. Get familiar with Elemental Damage
Weapons in Horizon Forbidden West often deal different types of damage. A regular bow might offer impact damage, while there’s variants out there that deal Fire damage. Make note of the weapon you’re using and who you are using it against. Some types of damage are more effective against certain enemies.
3. Focus, Focus, Focus
You’ll have to use your focus a lot during your travels, so make use of it to gather information. A quick push of the button (pressing down the right stick) will show you items and routes available to you in the area surrounding you, while you can also hold it down to fully scan any new enemies or objects you need more information about.
2. Ask around
When you reach a settlement, you encounter other people who set up camp. Sometimes it’ll be possible to talk to someone who’ll give you a quest, if they’ve got an exclamation mark above their head. Always be on the lookout for these as they might net you some interesting rewards.
1. Ignore your completionist mindset (sometimes)
You’ll do a lot of exploring in Horizon Forbidden West and you’ll run into roadblocks more often than not. Don’t linger and just mark the map and return later when you’ve got the right equipment. It’s easy to get stuck on something only to waste your team, so be wary of it.
