Ceb returns to OG – SumaiL departs

The two-time TI champion has returned to the OG roster. Sébastien “Ceb” Debs will reprise his offlane role at OG. SumaiL becomes a free agent.

Never say die? In what is now a time tested OG classic another member of the roster has made his return from retirement. After initially hanging up his mouse since becoming the first two-time champions at TI9, the offlaner is officially back in business.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic Ceb had been playing with the OG roster at several tournaments as a stand-in, but now his return has been made permanent. In an interview he detailled his thoughts regarding his decision to “un-retire”:

SumaiL departs from OG

To accomodate the return of Ceb, current offlaner Syed Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan was let go from the roster. When he initially joined OG after TI9 many fans had high hopes for the new roster. With the pandemic halting the Dota Pro Circuit and shifting the scene to regional play globally spread out teams like OG suffered even worse.

It is still unclear where SumaiL might be headed to next. The TI5-champion is most certainly the most valuable free agent in the scene right now and it is very likely that several teams are already knocking at the starplayer’s door.

Some rumours link SumaiL as stand-in for Evil Geniuses in the upcoming OMEGA League, but nothing has been confirmed so far.

OG’s current roster:

  • Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng
  • Topias Miikka “Topson” Taavitsainen
  • Sébastien “Ceb” Debs
  • Martin “Saksa” Sazdov
  • Johan “N0tail” Sundstein

The new OG will be live in action on July 27 at the OGA Pit league Season 2 EU/CIS against European opponents Vikin.gg
