A new Hearthstone tournament has been announced by Blizzard and is set to take place on August 25. The tournament itself was announced as a showmatch tournament with some of the biggest personalities surrounding the game being involved and competing.
In total there’ll be 20 players competing for the $100.000 prize pool, all being divided into teams of 2 players for a total of 10 teams. Every single player will play in four rounds, where they’ll compete in best-of-three matches. The tournament will also have a unique scoring format and is of course set to promote the Scholomance Academy expansion.

Participating teams will make four decks which feature at least 10 cards from Scholomance Academy.
Every individual game win will award the team one point
If both players on a team win their match with a 2-0 sweep, they’ll be awarded two additional points.
Placements are decided by total point count after the four rounds have been played.
