It’s been quite a while, but Valve has released a new update for CS:GO in the form of the new Operation Broken Fang. Alongside new maps the update also offers some quality of life improvements, new game modes and more in-depth stat tracking.
Every week you’ll receive a new mission card which will feature multiple missions that players are free to complete. When players complete these missions they’ll be able to upgrade their Broken Fang coin they’ve received from Bronze all the way to Diamond. Missions can be completed in casual, competitive, Danger Zone, Guardians and the new game mode Retakes alongside the Broken Fang Premier matchmaking.

News maps and game mode
Operation Broken Fang comes with several new maps as well (seven in total), one of which is the competitive map Ancient that is based on an Aztec design. The update also includes community maps (Apollo, Engage, Elysion, Frostbite, Guard and Autumn) which will be available to multiple game modes.

One of these new game modes, Retakes, already has a following and was widely played on different community maps as a more fast-paced game mode where three terrorists have to prevent the counter-terrorist from defusing a planted bomb. Instead of buying your gear you’ll be provided with loadout cards you can choose from. First team to win 8 rounds takes the game.
Easier Communication
Broken Fang also launches a chat wheel which players can customize to their liking. The chat wheel can be used as a means of quick communication with your teammates and consists of things like callouts and pings. The communication will be done both via audio as well as the text chat, helping out players with or without microphones.
Pick your rewards
The reward system also works a little differently. Players can pick and choose what they want to spend their hard-earned points on. New rewards range from new stickers, patches, completely new agents, a new weapon case and more. Of course all these rewards are completely cosmetic and won’t give players a competitive advantage.
Broken Fang Premier Stat Tracking
One of the biggest updates that comes with Broken Fang is an extremely detailed stat-tracking page for players who queue in Broken Fang Premier matchmaking, that contains information about your in-game stats, your playstyle, heat maps that cover the entirety of the maps, your preferred guns and much more.
The Broken Fang Premier matchmaking system can only be used by those who purchase the Broken Fang Operation pass. Players will play maps from the Active Duty map pool featuring 5v5 matchmaking, including map picks and bans prior to match start.
