Final Fantasy 7’s Sephiroth joins Smash Bros. Ultimate

Nintendo used the stage provided by the Game Awards 2020 to announce their newest addition to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster. Final Fantasy 7’s villain Sephiroth will join the fray.

2020 is shaping up to be quite the year for Final Fantasy 7 fans. After the release of the first part of the remake in April, Nintendo now brings Sephiroth over to their Fighting Game franchise Super Smash Bros.

The reveal trailer certainly knew how to get the fans hyped up as Sephiroth made his grand entrance. Coupled with legendary boss theme music “One-Winged Angel” playing, Nintendo nailed the reveal.

Fans should mark December 17 in their calendars when Smash Bros.’ Director Masuhiro Sakurai will introduce the new DLC fighter in detail. We will also get our first look at the new stage and music that will be bundled with Sephiroth.

With a release teased “later this month” it seems very likely that Sephiroth will be available immediately after the presentation on December 17. So make sure to not miss the event.
