League of Legends Preseason 2021: 5 Champions to Try

by Adeline Susanto/DBLTAP
League of Legends Preseason 2021 has been nothing but eventful. Ever since Patch 10.23 rolled out, the Rift has felt different. This is in part to new champions introduced in the past few weeks, new items, a new shop, and many ability adjustments.

With so many changes in short period of time, players need to keep up with the dynamic of the game. Some relatively drastic changes have been applied to several champions and below are the five champions players should try in League of Legends Preseason 2021.

1. Rell

Rell is League of Legends’ latest addition in the Rift and is the 153th released champion. The Iron Maiden is classified as a vanguard or offensive tank. Her kit allows her to engage for allies to follow-up and disengage in skirmishes. There are many champions that pair well with her and counter her in Rift.

2. Pantheon

Pantheon is one of the champions that received relatively massive changes in Patch 10.25. The rework is aimed to return Pantheon to the top lane. His kit was shifted toward a bruiser playstyle with higher uptime on his Comet Spear (Q) at the expense of his utility. While his Aegis Assault (E) no longer blocks turret shots, he gains more armor penetration to bully his enemy.

3. Anivia

Anivia’s rework has excited the community. Her Flash Frost (Q) cooldown, missile speed, and detonation damage have been increased. Her passthrough damage and cost was decreased. It can also chill enemies it passes through. Her Frostbite’s (E) cost was flattened and damage increased. Her ultimate Glacial Storm’s (R) cooldown now scales.

4. Ivern

There is no secret that Ivern has never been a favored champion in the jungle. In the recent changes, his Rootcaller (Q) cooldown wass decreased. His Triggerseed’s (E) cooldown was also decreased while his shield is increased. Daisy! (R) has a basic attack buff to 0.7 now.

5. Twitch

Twitch’s performance has been quite disappointing both in AP and AD play styles. He has received some buffs in Patch 10.25. His Ambush (Q) attack speed has been increased, along with his Venom Cask (W). His Spray and Pray (R) also gained bonus damage.
