VALORANT: Bind pick rate lowered in Escalation after overpowered tactic surfaces
Riot Games recently brought their newest game mode Escalation to VALORANT, but not everything has gone according to plan.
Escalation has run into quite a big issue, as some of the players discovered that it’s very effective to camp in the teleporter on Bind when playing the new game mode. By hiding inside the teleporter players can force others to engage and come towards them, which makes things a lot easier for the defending player, as they have the advantage of knowing where the enemy is coming from. Some weapons are also less effective than others in killing people who use this tactic.
We heard your concerns about the chaos that is playing Escalation on Bind. With Patch 2.04, we’re working on ways to stop camping at the TP.
For now, we’re adjusting the pickrate for Bind to lower your chances of playing Escalation on this map. Hope this helps!
Riot Games has acknowledged the issue and has lowered the Bind pick rate for the time being while they are working on a solution to the problem, providing a statement on the issue on Twitter. “We heard your concerns about the chaos that is playing Escalation on Bind. With Patch 2.04, we’re working on ways to stop camping at the TP. For now, we’re adjusting the pick rate for Bind to lower your chances of playing Escalation on this map.“
Fans were very happy to see Riot make a change so fast after giving their feedback, making Escalation a little more fun to play again. Escalation was added to the game recently, with many of the fans really enjoying the game mode, asking for it to be made a permanent playlist going forward.
