TMG player cheating leads to disqualification for VALORANT Southeast Asia Masters
A player of esports team TMG got banned for cheating, leading to them being disqualified for the upcoming Southeast Asia Masters 1.
As the VALORANT Champions Tour 2021 Malaysia and Singapore Challengers 3 came to a close, it was TMG (or Timing Monster Gaming) who came out strongest following a victory over Team SMG in the Grand Final. Thanks to their victory over SMG, they secured themselves a spot in the Southeast Asia Masters 1. That spot was now taken away from them after a player was found to be cheating.
so ik u guys wont believe even if i say i dont cheat so im talking to riot now and i hope to see u guys on lan to prove pic.twitter.com/49eHKpL0l5
That player was JuicySG, who first went on to tweet that he couldn’t participate in the Southeast Asia Masters due to age restrictions as he’s too young. Later on however it was discovered he was cheating in VALORANT after a report was posted and he subsequently received a ban. JuicySG went on to respond to the ban, which was a permanent one, by posting a screenshot and saying he’s not a cheater and is looking to prove it on LAN.
To resolve the situation Riot Games and ESL put out a statement saying TMG will not be able to participate due to the cheating incident and Team SMG will play instead. “We have instilled a ban on a member of Timing Monster Gaming (TMG) due to behavior that violates our anti-cheat policy,” the statement read. “Effective immediately, the runners-up of VCT Challengers Singapore/Malaysia has been awarded the seed to Masters 1.”
