Rammus’ new VFX and kit, including reworked ultimate, is hitting the PBE

It’s been in the works for quite a while but the new VFX changes for Rammus are coming to the PBE (Public Beta Environment) alongside changes to his kit.

Riot Games had announced the changes for Rammus quite a while back, detailing some of their planned updates. Now it’s confirmed that the updated Rammus, featuring changes in VFX and his kit, is hitting the Public Beta Environment today according to a tweet by the senior VFX artist Riot Sirhaian. In this tweet he also showed a small video featuring some of the changes.

When it comes to the changes itself the VFX mostly change up his outdated animations, making them a little more sleek and informative. His Q, which sees Rammus roll up into a ball is now a lot more smooth, while his W (shield) got tuned more to Rammus’ spiky design. His taunt (E) now has an indicator as to where enemies will be facing.

The biggest change however is possible his ultimate Soaring Slam, which has been changed up to make Rammus jump in the air to later slam down on the ground with enemies taking more damage the closer they are to the radius, while also slowing them. Rammus will also see his current skill updated to better match his new, cleaner look. It’s expected the changes will hit the live server towards the end of spring.
