StarLadder chosen to host next CIS Regional Major Ranking tournament

StarLadder has been chosen to host the next Regional Major Ranking (RMR) tournament for the CIS region.

The main event will run from June 27^th through July 4^th, with open qualifiers starting at the beginning of June.

The tournament organizer will have ten teams competing in a round-robin group stage, with four of those teams qualifying for a double-elimination playoff bracket.

Besides the RMR points, StarLadder has a $100,000 prize pool as an added incentive for the teams.

The open qualifiers will give four teams the chance to play in the RMR closed qualifier, where they’ll meet four invited teams. The closed qualifier will run with a best-of-three GSL group stage to determine the teams who’ll make it to the Main Event Group Stage.

A total of five teams will advance from the closed qualifier to that group stage, joining five invited teams. The main event playoffs will determine the five CIS teams who will qualify for the PGL Major Stockholm with a $2,000,000 prize pool.

The CIS team currently in the top three of the RMR Rankings are Team Spirit (1,680 points), closely followed by Navi (1,630 points) and Gambit (1,400 points).

The PGL Major Stockholm will run from October 23 until November 7 and will be the first Valve sponsored CS:GO event since the Berlin Major back in 2019, organized by StarLadder.

A complete rundown of RMR points and prize pool distribution will be announced on a later date. There will be one last RMR competition on LAN to complete the qualifying process.
