After previous cheating allegations: Two players from Akuma leave during CIS RMR event
Following their match against Natus Vincere in the CIS RMR event, two players from Akuma have apparantly left the organization and are looking for new options.
The two players that have reportedly left are Dmitriy “SENSEI” Shvorak and Evgeniy “J3kie” Sergachev, who both changed up their social media pages and made it clear they’re looking for a new team to play in. Akuma lost their matches against Natus Vincere with 5-16 and 6-16 on Mirage and Nuke respectively and are currently not doing too well, going 0-3 in their group following losses to Gambit and ForZe as well.
to be fair to Akuma, at the EPIC RMR they didn’t look very good they just looked like they guessed right and got lucky 100 times in a row, so even if they were legit they wouldn’t have been expected to do anything at the next event.
Akuma came under fire during their matches in the EPIC CIS League Spring, where allegations surfaced of reported cheating. The ESIC also got involved and linked the organization with ‘suspicious’ bets made by its CEO Oleksandr Shysko. Afterwards all other CIS teams that participated wrote in an open letter to Valve where they explained the allegations that were made against Akuma, also criticizing the tournament organizers.
In any case, it looks like Akuma will have to find new players. As neither Starladder nor Akuma have released any information on the situation, there’s still the possibility they won’t continue competing in the RMR event, with the future of the team still questionable as well.
