In the past there was really only one Pokémon in UNITE that could provide healing (Eldegoss), but that’s now changed as Blissey has entered the game. Blissey is here to provide a whole lot of tankiness paired with excellent healing abilities, soaking up damage while keeping the rest of your team healthy.
As you’ll be supporting your teammates, positioning will be very important. In big teammates you want to be close enough to both your front and backline, to provide some healing to said frontline and to soak up potentially life-threatening damage to your carries. Don’t just blindly run in to attack opponents, that won’t be your primary job, although your auto attacks can still deal decent damage in a pinch.
Best held items for Blissey
Blissey is one of these Pokémon that can use multiple of the more tank and support-oriented held items, but there are some options that should be more useful than others. Assault Vest and Focus Band should be logical choices for a tanky Pokémon such as Blissey, helping it to stay alive and fulfill its role within the team for a longer period of time. Finally there’s Buddy Barrier, which can help you grant a shield to ally Pokémon who might need it in a pinch. One might also consider Muscle Band, because the attack boost synergizes well with Helping Hand (Lvl. 6).
For the battle item, the Eject Button should be standard, allowing Blissey to get out if she finds herself in a bad situation, which she might not escape from due to her bad mobility.
Moves
Starting out
Pound (Level 1 or level 3): Has the user attack by pounding in the designated direction, dealing damage to opposing Pokemon in the area of effect and decreasing their movement speed for a while.
Heal Pulse (Level 1 or level 3): Recovery move that restores user and allied Pokémon’s HP for a short while.
Move Slot 1
Soft-Boiled (Level 4): Throw an egg to ally Pokémon and restore HP, both user and targeted Pokémon. Maximum of three uses can be in reserve. At level 12 it’s upgraded, increasing the amount of uses. (2 second cooldown)
Safeguard (Level 4): Remove all status conditions for designated allies and make them immune to it for a short while. Upgraded at level 12, also shielding allies. (11 second cooldown)
Soft-Boiled is probably the most effective option to go with, as it provides a lot of healing in a very short amount of time, able to swing teamfights your way. Safeguard can be considered if the opposing team has a lot of debuffs present, perhaps when facing something like Alolan Ninetales.
Move Slot 2
Egg Bomb (Level 6): Throw an egg to a location, which explodes in AOE damage, throwing enemies. Upgrades at level 10, decreasing movement speed of enemy Pokémon hit. (7.5 second cooldown)
Helping Hand (Level 6): Increase user and ally Pokémon’s movement speed and basic attack speed. All basic attacks become empowered. Upgrades at level 10, increasing basic attack damage further. (9 second cooldown)
If you’re laning with powerful auto attackers, Helping Hand should be your go-to, as it’ll significantly boost their effectiveness. If your team is lacking some CC and damage, Egg Bomb could be a viable option.
Unite Move
Bliss Assistance (Level 8): Blissey dashes to a selected Pokémon and gives it an egg, shielding the Pokémon and increasing both attack and special attack for a short while. Blissey also intercepts part of the damage received by that Pokémon. Enemy Pokémon caught between the dash are thrown.
