Call of Duty Vanguard Alpha shows more info on perks, killstreaks, equipment and maps
Those who are playing on Playstation are in luck because during the Call of Duty League Championships it was announced that an alpha for Call of Duty Vanguard was coming in the form of Champion Hill, a new game mode. You and one (or two) other players team up to battle it out over the hill, looking to become the winner. That’s not all, because we now know a little more details about the multiplayer.
Equipment
Equipment is a staple in Call of Duty games and it makes a return in Vanguard, with some familiar ones returning alongside a few new twists.
Gammon Bomb – Grenade that damages on impact
MK2 Frag Grenade – Classic frag grenade
MK V Gas Grenade – Gas grenade that impairs movement after exploding using gas
No. 69 Stun Grenade – Stuns enemies, slowing reactions and movement
S-Mine 44 – Proximity explosive
Throwing Knife – Sharp knife thrown at the enemies, resulting in a one-shot kill when hit
Perks
There’ll be about six perks in the Alpha which can be picked up by the player depending on the amount of money they hold. Again there’s some familiar names in there, but the effects differ slightly on a few of them.
Demolition – Gives you an extra lethal grenade when spawning, shows path when thrown
Double Time – Faster movement when crouched, increased sprint duration
Ghost – Undetectable by spy planes and field mic
High Alert – Makes your vision pulse when enemies (that are not on your screen) see you
Survival Training – More resistance to stun, gas immunity
Tracker – Shows footprints left by the enemy, hides death markers of killed enemies
Killstreaks
There’ll be seven killstreaks available in Champion Hill, with again mostly familiar names among the list. There’s also a gunstreak based killstreak in the same vein as the MOAB or Nuke, namely the V2 Rocket.
Armor Plate – Gains you a single piece of armor
Death machine – Machine gun with explosive rounds and fixed amount of ammo
Extra Life – 1 Extra life for your team
Flamenaut – Flamethrower with unlimited fuel and protective gear, lost on death
Full Armor – Full armor plates
Spy Plane – Reveal enemy positions through a spy plane
V2 Rocket – V2 Rockets ends the match and kills all players
Additional info
Champion Hill will be played on four maps, namely Courtyard, Market, Airship and Trainyard. Players will be able to do so using four different Operators called Lucas Riggs, Arthur Kingsley, Wade Jackson and Polina Petrova, which will all be randomly assigned to the player at the start of the match.
