CS:GO reveals Operation Riptide – What you need to know
Riptide is the first Operation we got after Broken Fang way back in May and will stay active until February 20. Riptide of course also brings a new operation pass with it, which will give you an operation coin you can level up by completing various challenges along the way.
Gameplay changes
Arguably the biggest change is the ability to now drop grenades similar to weapons and the bomb, giving them more versatility. They also made some changes to Dust 2, blocking visibility of mid from T Spawn. Finally there’s some weapon changes. The M4A1-S will now do more damage to the body, while the Deagle will do a bit less. Dual-wield options are also made a little cheaper.

Valve introduced private queues in the game, which means players are now able to create private Premier matches of their own, choosing who is allowed to join them. Team Deathmatch and Free-For-All are now also added to the game, while there’s also the option to play shorter competitive matches, which only span 9 rounds to win the game, while still retaining the classic format.
New maps and additional content
There’s five new community maps which have found their way into the game, namely Basalt, County, Extraction, Insertion II and Ravine. Aside from the maps, the new Riptide Agent collection was added to the game alongside a whole slew of new weapon skins, stickers and patches.
