The first major update for Battlefield 2042 that launched today

Battlefield 2042 has gotten off to a less than ideal start. Only days after its response, the game has found its way into the top ten lowest reviewed games on Steam. Players have complained about a range of issues, going from bugs to monotonous gameplay when compared to the previous additions to the long-running franchise.

DICE are trying to combat player complaints in the first major update of Battlefield 2042. Titled ‘Update Two’ the patch will focus on fundamental issues of the FPS such as gunplay. Bullet spread as been a documented issue in the game which tended to be too high on many weapons. The patch seeks to improve this fundamental quality of the game by toning down the bullet spread across the board.

The update also intends to change many of the vehicles in the game. Vehicles will see a change in health to “bring it more in line with its design.” In other more sporadic updates, the revive and respawn system will receive a revamp. The Nightbird’s 20mm canon will see a nerf to its splash damage following the patch as well.

DICE will also overhaul Battlefield 2042’s progression system, maps, and interface in this sweeping patch. With so many changes coming with the release of “Update Two” players may have an entirely new experience when loading up Battlefield 2042. Though the game has received less than stellar reviews so far, the developers are looking to turn public image around. With no exact date released as of yet, the patch is expected to come out in early December.
