Caedrel hints that he might not be casting LEC next split
English caster and analyst for the LEC, Marc “Caedrel” Lamont may not return to the European broadcast for 2022. Joining the LEC broadcast after retiring from professional play in 2021, Caedrel quickly became one of the most prominent personalities on the LEC broadcast.
In his short time as a caster, Caedrel casted for the LEC domestic finals, MSI, and Worlds 2021. After the season concluded, Caedral was event awarded the ‘Analyst of the Year’ title by the Esports Awards. Recent ominous Twitter posts however have hinted that the English broadcaster will not make a return.
Earlier in the offseason, rumors swirled that Caedrel would transition to a coaching position for the revamped version of Team Vitality. Caedrel stated in a Tweet that he declined the offer as he still wanted to remain as a caster. The former jungler cited his desire to cast in front of a crowd as a reason for remaining on the LEC broadcast. Though it is unclear if Caedrel will pursue this option now, it certainly seems like his position in the LEC is in jeopardy.
Caedrel retweeted his announcement, writing ‘This didn’t age well’ though not providing any further details. Only one day later, Caedrel also posted a picture of himself being ‘Thanos snapped’ from Drakos and the LEC caster booth. Though nothing has been officially announced, this may be a soft confirmation that Caedrel will not be on the LEC broadcast.
The LEC broadcast has time and time again experienced immense caster and personality turnover. Caedrel may be the latest caster to depart from the broadcast.
