LEC releases music video ‘Wildfire’ featuring Against The Current

The LEC are no strangers to music videos. Ahead of the 2022 Spring Split, the broadcast team released its latest musical endeavor. Titled ‘Wildfire’ this latest track features the rock band Against The Current alongside LEC casters Vedius and Drakos.

Against The Current have made several appearances in League of Legends esports. The band pioneered the 2018 Worlds anthem ‘Legends Never Die’ that played as Invictus Gaming won the Summoner’s Cup. Lead singer Chrissy Costanza went back to work with Riot Games for the 2019 Worlds anthem ‘Phoenix.’

Vedius and Drakos have been near constants in all of the LEC’s music videos. The duo have made frequent appearances in the broadcast team’s mediocre rap battle video series. In 2021, the team even made the song ‘Rekkles With My Heart’ which both introduced the season and commemorated Rekkles’ signing to G2 Esports.

The music video for Wildfire certainly builds up hype for the quickly approaching LEC split. Every team’s logo is featured throughout the music video while the catchy lyrics and high octane music previews the intense season of competition to come. Undoubtedly, this will be a song that LEC viewers will likely hear all season long.

The 2022 LEC Spring Split is set to begin on January 14, as Team Vitality will take on the reigning champions MAD Lions. With more songs and music videos likely to come in 2022, ‘Wildfire’ is certainly an incredible start to the LEC season.
