PGL announces $500.000 Dota 2 Texas Major

This Dota 2 Major will be the final Major of the Dota Pro Circuit 2021-2022, taking place in Arlington, Texas. The Major itself will take place in the Esports Stadium Arlington, the largest esports facility in the United States. A total of 18 teams will take part in the event and it’ll also be the last opportunity for many of them to get some additional points to secure qualification for The International. The Major itself is to take place from August 4 to August 14.

Another big announcement that was made alongside the Major is the fact that audiences will be returning to the arena, meaning the Major will have some spectators watching along the sidelines. It’s a great opportunity for North American Dota 2 fans, because the last Major in their country dates back to 2016, with the Boston Major.

The CEO of PGL, Silviu Stroie, is excited to return to the United States. “We are fortunate to be back in North America with another Major after Boston. We love to run events in the USA, and we have wonderful memories from 2016: it was a great tournament, and the fans were fantastic. Having a tremendous tournament with DOTA 2 enthusiasts in the stands after a long time will be great!”
