For the first time in six long years Cloud 9 has won the LCS. Crushing FlyQuest 3-0 in the finals their long wait for a title has finally ended. Cloud 9 are your LCS Spring Split 2020 champions!
Over the entire course of the Spring Split 2020 Cloud 9 were the team to beat. Setting a spectacular record of 17-1 they cruised through the Split. Led by ADC-Star Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen C9 only lost a single match to TSM during the regular season. In the playoffs Cloud 9 just kept on trucking and first demolished 100 Thieves 3-0 before qualifying for the Grand Finals by defeating Evil Geniuses 3-1. There they cemented their status as kings of North America by 3-0’ing FlyQuest without breaking a sweat.
With a combined record of 26-2 Cloud 9 set a new record for dominance across an entire Split. A fairy tale ending to six bitter years without a title and only silver medals to show for.
Cloud 9 has reestablished itself on the throne of the LCS although they lost Dennis “Svenskeren” during the off-season. Much of their resurgence is owed to Philippe “Vulcan” Laflamme, who transferred to Cloud 9 for the record sum of 1.75 million US-Dollar.
Celebrating the end of the Team Liquid era in the LCS the Cloud 9 players were ecstatic. Maybe too ecstatic as their twitter had to report:
