Karma decides to retire from competitive Call of Duty

One of the most celebrated and popular competitive Call of Duty players, Damon “Karma” Barlow, has decided to retire. The announcement was made by his team Seattle Surge and himself on Twitter. Karma won the Call of Duty world championship three times.

In his statement that was posted to the Seattle Surge Twitter page, Karma first and foremost thanks his wife Holly and daughter Bella who helped and inspired him every day. After thanking his teammates, among them players such as Bryan “Apathy” Zhelyazkov”, and his fans he looks forward to a new chapter in his life.

Later Karma also made a statement about Modern Warfare itself, as he has been vocal about not liking the game in the past. “I think this was something I needed to do a while age. The game wasn’t really catered to me. Didn’t enjoy running around with a MP5 and het 0 desire to get on and play the game.” He also confirmed he won’t be back for later titles in the competitive Call of Duty scene.

It’s not known what Karma’s plans are after retiring from the game. He has talked about coaching in the past but currently hasn’t accepted any offers. His place on Seattle Surge will either be filled in by substitute players Proto or Enable or a new pickup by the organization.
