The German midlaner, Oliver “Dajor” Ryppa, is set make his LEC debut on Astralis in 2022. The midlaner previously played on Fnatic Rising, an ERL team in the NLC. The team qualified for EU Masters Summer and finished second in the tournament only behind Karmine Corp.
The midlaner has only played professional for less than a year, joining Fnatic Rising at the beginning of the 2021 season. The midlane star had countless impressive performances on his rapid rise the LEC main stage.
Dajor is set to join a rebuilding Astralis roster. So far, the Danish organization’s 2022 roster includes WhiteKnight, Zanzarah, Dajor, Kobbe, and Promisq. The roster has removed former ADC Jeskla and Magifelix, who covered for the team in the second half of the 2021 season. While Promisq’s state on the team is unknown, WhiteKnight and Zanzarah are expected to remain on the squad.
Astralis joined the LEC back in 2018 under the name of Origen. The esports organization rebranded to the name its partner owner, Astralis, in 2021. Since then, the team has found disappointing results and often hovered around the bottom of the LEC standings.
Though the team has seen glimpses of success, Astralis has largely failed to maintain any momentum they have found. With this slight rebuild, keeping the two most impressive individuals performers from 2021 while taking top talent from the ERLs. It is unknown if these changes will give Astralis the results that they have sought after for over a year, however the team is taking a risk on a promising young midlaner.
