Big LoL Patch 10.22 introduces Seraphine and many changes

With Worlds 2020 concluding this week, Riot announced the first preseasonal patch. 10.22 introduces a new champion and changes a lot about some older ones.

After Worlds 2020, League of Legends will change big time. Patch 10.22 will introduce Seraphine, a support champion heavily reliant on good team play. Her abilities get stronger the more allies she has closely surrounding her, allowing her to deal more damage and give stronger buffs.

Even though she has been criticized by fans for being similar to Sona, her kit differs in many ways and encourage keeping close proximity to her allies even more. Still, both champs are supporters relying on the magic of music even on the battlefield.

Here you can find Seraphine’s abilities.

Buffs for Amumu and Annie, Nerfs for Karthus and more

Although a new champion always gets the most attention in a patch, some of the other changes could also influence the meta big time. Brand is the champion that received the most changes with three of his abilities being altered.

Riot’s goal was to strengthen his abilities as a mid lane champion while at the same time dialing down some of the aspects that made him a good support choice. His passive now deals less explosion damage while scaling better with strong abilities. Brand’s E got straight up buffed, spreading to all targets in a wider range. The Pyroclasm has been reworked to disallow huge bursts of damage.

Other champions that have been buffed are Amumu, who can now stun enemies instead of rooting and disarming them, and Annie, who’s Molten Shield will now provide an actual shield for three seconds. Ashe now starts off with a weaker W in the early game that will scale from 7 – 11 arrows per volley, so she’s stronger later on.

Karthus‘ Q has been nerfed by 5 points of base damage for each rank. In Riot’s view, he was too flexible and too good at clearing waves and camps. Lulu has suffered a similar fate, as her Q now scales way worse dealing only 220 base damage instead of 260 on the highest level.

You can find all the changes to all the champions here.
