As esports continues to grow, so does the status of its athletes, with League of Legends mid laner Perkz and AWPer ZywOo being named in Forbes 30 under 30 in Europe.
The Forbes 30 under 30 is an annual list of people under the age of 30 who have made a significant impact in their field or scene, consisting of categories like art, entertainment, sports, gaming and more. In the case of Luka “Perkz” Perkovic and Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut it’s League of Legends and CS:GO respectively. It’s not the first time esports has made its way on to the list, as players such as Stewie2K and Doublelift have made an appearance, just like the CEO of popular esports organization 100 Thieves, Matt “Nadeshot” Haag.
Both ZywOo and Perkz have made quite the impact in their respective scenes. ZywOo has raised Team Vitality up to one of the best teams in the world over the past two years and won the HLTV Player of the Year award two times in a row. Perkz on the other hand played a big part in the success of G2 Esports, playing both as a mid laner and bot laner, leading them to a Grand Final at Worlds in 2019. He currently plays for Cloud9 in North America.
