Original news:
It seems like Activison has postponed the start of the new season. The patch was planned to release on August 12 and should have been available for pre-downloads already. For Black Ops: Cold War the initial date was August 10 at 9 PM PT, followed by Warzone at August 11 at 9 PM PT and the official release a day later.

The missing pre-downloads are not the only indication for a delay. The official website changed the cover for the Season 5. Previously it stated a release on August 12 but got changed to a non-specific date later this week. It is completly unknown, when the new update will actually be released.
Many players are currently a bit bored due to the lack of new content and are eagerly waiting for the new update. The patch is probably postponed because of errors or technical problems, causing it to be released later this week. We have summed up everything you need to know about Season 5.
