Changes in new CS:GO update as Ancient is added to active map pool

As operation Broken Fang comes to an end CS:GO is due to get a big change within the competitive map rotation.

Operation Broken Fang is now over, but it certainly leaves behind something of note. The map Ancient, which was added as a part of the operation back in December of 2020, will be added to the active map pool. This also means that Train will no longer be a part of the rotation. The upcoming RMR events (CS_Summit 8 and Flashpoint) will still use the old map pool however, giving players ample time and opportunity to get accustomed to Ancient.

To accomodate Ancient being added to the active map pool the map itself has received a few changes to better facilitate competitive play. Valve changed up the A bomb site quite a bit by adding another CT path and an additional plateau. The B bomb site on the other hand only received minor changes.

Community reactions have been mixed on the change, with a lot of players not expecting Ancient to be added, especially not in favor of Train. It looks like Valve is not updating and reworking some of the older maps in the near future, in which case removing a map such as Mirage would be a bit more logical.
