Common low ELO mistakes made in VALORANT – Prevent doing these things and improve a lot
When playing VALORANT in lower ELO, a few key mistakes often happen which, if fixed, can give players a monumental edge over their opponents. In this article, we will be examining some of those mistakes, and hopefully help you climb towards Radiant!
No communication
VALORANT is a team game, and there are nine other players in the game with you. Unfortunately, you can’t micromanage every player, which means that you are reliant on information that your teammates give you, to formulate a battle plan. Return the favor, and communicate to the best of your ability.
Too hasty
While being fast on the trigger is important in the game, it’s kind of useless if your bullets are flying around everywhere. In lower ELO brackets, your opponent will also probably start spraying the moment he sees you. When that happens, take the extra half a second to line up your shot, and take your opponent out with a clean hit to the head, as opposed to praying that your bullets will magically hit.
Play for the team
Understand your role in the team. If you are playing a support character, don’t expect to hit the big numbers on the board, but make sure your teammates are able to enter or retake bombsites because you took care of key chokepoints with smokes and utility.
Don’t crouch
This may seem counterintuitive, as all the pro players crouch in the game. But that’s because their opponents are laser focused on hitting headshots. In lower ELO, players often aim for the belly or chest, which means that crouching will actually give them an easier time hitting a headshot on you. Crouching is a great strategy, but you might find yourself getting killed less often by avoiding it.
