Team Liquid announced today via Twitter that CoreJJ intends to remain on the roster through the 2022 LCS season. This will be CoreJJ’s third season with the LCS team, departing from Gen.G back in 2019.
CoreJJ has continually been the driving force behind the Team Liquid roster. During his tenure with the squad, CoreJJ has contributed to two championships, four LCS finals appearances, an MSI finals appearance, as well as three World Championship runs. Individually, CoreJJ has picked up two MVP trophies while playing support for Team Liquid.
The jungle and support duo of CoreJJ and Santorin are set to be the only two players returning to Team Liquid from the 2021 season. The four-time LCS Champions are set bring in three new faces to the team ahead of the coming season. Bwipo, Bjergsen, and Hans sama are all expected to sign with the team in the near future.
The 27-year-old support player is a veteran of the game and has continually made a case for being the top in his role. Though winning a World Championship in 2017, CoreJJ has seemingly only sharpened his mechanics since.
CoreJJ is widely considered not only one of the best mechanical supports in the LCS, but an asset to the region as a whole. Every offseason since his arrival, CoreJJ has lead the inhouse system. This system allows professional players and other high-elo LoL players to versus each other in a low-ping, competitive environment.
Team Liquid is clearly assembling a squad meant to challenge for the LCS title once again, though if this intended squad hits its stride the ambitious could stretch far beyond domestic titles.
