CouRageJD renews contract with YouTube, remains exclusive
Popular content creator and 100 Thieves co-owner Jack “CouRageJD” Dunlop announced via Twitter that is not leaving YouTube. His announcement video paid homage to his initial move to YouTube, once again showing the red and purple doors.
CouRage once again choose the Google-owned video platform, going through the red door. As stated in the video, CouRage reaffirmed fans that “it is official. I am not going anywhere. I’m streaming exclusively on YouTube.” Before the mass exodus of former Twitch stars to YouTube, CouRage was the first content creator to lead off the move.
Since CouRage’s switch, YouTube has become a serious competitor to the world’s largest live streaming website. Valkyrae, DrLupo, and TimTheTatman are just a few of the former Twitch stars to follow CouRage into YouTube Gaming’s new partner program. Already the most popular platform in the world for video content, YouTube is rapidly expanding its roster of active and popular streamers.
CouRage boasts that in the past year he has broken every viewership record he has ever had an states the decision was “the best I’ve ever made in my career.” CouRage expressed his excitement over YouTube’s plan to expand its live streaming division, specifically citing its ‘roadmap’ for the future.
On YouTube, CouRage has over 3.4 million subscribers, posting both IRL and other unique content alongside regular streams. As the streamer seems set on remaining with YouTube, the ongoing platform war between YouTube and Twitch only heats up. Though many streaming sites have come and gone, it seems that YouTube and Twitch stand as the two pillars for content creators.
