CSGO caster James Banks’ wife passes away during PGL Major Stockholm
Heartbreaking news around CSGO caster James Banks. He announced on Twitter that his wife passed away while Banks was doing his job at the PGL Major Stockholm 2021. Obviously the 31-year old is devestated, but he also announced his intention to continue his work at the major.
Banks is one of the biggest names in CSGO esports when you speak about on-screen talent. He is well-known for casting CSGO and Valorant events, but also gained a lot of respect for speaking openly about his mental health struggles. Earlier this year he posted a Twitlonger where he talks about his depression and how he overcame this specific part of his life.
I’ve just heard the news that the love of my life passed away…we are still waiting on more information…I don’t know how I feel or what to do…the pain is unbearable. I will never forget the memories we made! She was far too young for this & had so much to give 😭😭😭💔💔💔! pic.twitter.com/Iv7YjutGRT
It is of course unnecessary to understand Banks his message is heartfelt. His tweet states he is ‘still waiting on more information’ and that he doesn’t know how to feel or what to do. He also attached some pictures of him and his wife.
Not leaving the Major
Banks will remain at PGL Major Stockholm, he says. “I’ve dealt with losses but nothing like this. I will continue on with the Major, it is what she would of wanted as there’s nothing I could do back home. Just have to wait and keep myself busy,” he states underneath his first tweet. He is also very grateful for all the support he received.
Everyone at PGL have been incredibly supportive. I’ve dealt with losses but nothing like this. I will continue on with the Major, it is what she would of wanted as there’s nothing I could do back home…just have to wait and keep myself busy.
