24 teams will participate in the European division of IEM Fall. Although Natus Vincere and Gambit are playing in the CIS division, the majority of Europe’s best are duking it out in the final RMR tournament.
Participating teams at IEM Fall:
Group A
BIG
mousesports
FunPlus Phoenix
G2 Esports
Copenhagen Flames
AURA
Group B
Heroic
Astralis
Complexity Gaming
Sinners Esports
Endpoint
Movistar Riders
Group C
Team Vitaity
OG
Sprout
Dignitas
ENCE
MAD Lions
Group D
FaZe Clan
Ninjas in Pyjamas
Fnatic
SKADE
Team Fiend
Double Poney
The groups will be played out from September 29 to October 3 in a best-of-1 round robin mode. The top 2 of each group qualify for the playoffs. The knockout stage will feature Best-of-3’s with the grand final going the full distance of a Best-of-5.
While the prize pool of $105,000 is a welcome bonus to the eventual champions, main prize will be the RMR points that serve as ticket to the Major in Stockholm. Teams need to place within the top 11 to get points with the three best teams in Europe going straight to the Legends stage, while places fourth to eleventh have to battle through the Challengers stage in Stockholm.
Currently Heroic, G2 Esports and mousesports are sitting at the top of the European Regional Rankings, but only G2 are counted among the favourites for IEM Fall 2021. Fiercest competitors will be Team Vitality and FaZe Clan, but Astralis, BIG and Heroic are no slouches either.
Make sure to tune into the action through the official Twitch or YouTube streams from ESL.
