Discord might be releasing a crypto wallet and NFT integration for their platform

Jason Citron, the CEO of Discord, recently teased a crypto wallet integration for Discord on his Twitter account in a response tweet talking about Discord in combination with NFTs. In the screenshot he shared we can see Discord allowing a possible connection to both MetaMask and WalletConnect, which are cryptocurrency wallets that allow users to access Ethereum.

Discord also seems to be putting a lot of their focus on NFTs and recently opened a survey asking their users about their feelings on digital art. Many Discord users that took part in the survey weren’t happy with the limited amount of options they were presented with to share their feedback, as the option to say you’re just not interested in NFTs or that you think negatively about it wasn’t present.

It’ll be interesting to see if Discord decides to go ahead with the integration and if they decide to keep catering further to the crypto and NFT crowd. Many users have stated that they’re not happy with these comments and say that Discord’s push into the crypto and NFT space is a good reason for them to cancel their premium subscriptions. Discord themselves said they’re “always looking for ways to improve Discord for all communities we serve”.
