Another big streamer takes a leap and switches from Twitch to YouTube Gaming. Ben “DrLupo” Lup signs an exclusive deal with the streaming platform and won’t be live on his Twitch channel starting today.
DrLupo has been active for over five years on Twitch, but the iconic streamer will be offline per today. Via a video on his social media, he announces his streaming career exclusively continues on YouTube Gaming. The first stream will be today, at August 31st.
“A couple years ago I took a leap of faith,” DrLupo says in his video. “I gave up a really good job to be a fulltime streamer. I know I love gaming and I love this community. Since then, a lot has changed. We made the right friends who taught us what it meant to play together. We found the right game, one that felt like it was made for us. And we won together. A lot.”
Raising money for charity
He also speaks about the great things his stream accomplished. “It wasn’t just about gaming. We used our platform for a good cause.” DrLupo is also known to use his streams for good cause, for example to collect money for charity. Last year he raised over 2.3 million dollars for St. Jude Children’s Hospital through a streaming event.
“It’s been a crazy journey, but we’re just getting started. The story continues, exclusively on YouTube Gaming,” the video concludes. Twitch responded to the video by wishing him the best of luck in the future.
