Excel announces Davidp as their first roster addition

Excel enters VALORANT esports with Davidp leading the charge

Excel marks the entry of another prominent, tier one esports organization into the VALORANT esports ecosystem. The European VALORANT scene has seen an enormous growth in the sheer amount of organizations flooding into the scene, with Fnatic, Vitality, and OG, and now Excel joining the ranks.

David “Davidp” Prins is the first player announced for the Excel roster and is assuming the role of captain as the organization continues to build the roster. The Belgian VALORANT player is most well known for his time on G2, where he helped the team in absolutely dominating the early tournaments in Europe and sweeping the ignition series. Davidp was ultimately dropped from the roster after G2 fell short during the first Riot endorsed regional tournament, First Strike, and floated in free-agency until picked up mid-February by Excel.

Questions marks still exist around who will fill out Excel’s roster, but rumors from Esportsmanicos who predicted this move also had Harry “DPS” MacGill, Morgan “B1GGY” Madour, Danila “Sunset” Soloviov, and Oscar “Ozzy” Scott joining Davidp. Whether or not these rumors stand true has yet to be seen, however with Davidp as the centerpiece this certainly seems like a promising start.

The European scene has proven itself to be filled with unknown talent, Team Liquid, Fnatic, and many other well-known organizations failing to qualify for EU Masters. With this roster, Excel could certainly pose a major challenge.
