Update: The Charity Bidding War has ended with one million US-Dollar raised for charity.
With heavyweights of the scene trading blows (or in this case bids) with each other to secure the exclusive costume of their choice in Fall Guys, developer Mediatonic has successfully raised one million US-Dollar for Special Effect. The charity organisation specializes in supporting gamers with disabilities.
Unbelievable! THANK YOU to the winners @aimlab, @G2esports, @MrBeastYT, @Ninja & everyone who bid, and to @FallGuysGame for making it all possible. Your generosity will enable us to continue making gaming dreams come true for people with physical disabilities around the world!💙 https://t.co/cBKDIBwN4p pic.twitter.com/HD16H07BML

After a wild bidding war in the first couple of days, things slowed down before the fiercest rivals joined hands at the last minute. To raise even more money for Special Effect they have even announced a special charity stream event to support the cause.
We Won the Fall guys Skin bid for Charity! Massive thanks again to @MrBeastYT @aimlab and @G2esports for joining me in this collab donation of a million dollars! pic.twitter.com/phI6mO3fFn

As a special thanks for the support from the joint bid Mediatonic has also decided to implement all four designs instead of just a single one.
Raising $1 million for @SpecialEffect will have such an INCREDIBLE impact!
We’ll now sort out the donations while our artists start to collab with the winners on their skins!
YES! We will include 4 costumes as a special thank you to the amazing people that made this possible ♥️

With Season 2 for Fall Guys on the way and scheduled for October 2020, we might be seeing those four costumes sooner than later.
Original article from August 19:
Fall Guys – Ultimate Knockout continues to put up strong numbers in terms of players and viewers. Unsurprisingly many companies are now trying to get their brand out there. Developer Mediatonic has now started an official Skin Contest to combine advertising with charity.
It all began when KFC and Walmart published mockups of branded skins for Fall Guys on Twitter:
We need this skin in @FallGuysGame, Twitter do your thing pic.twitter.com/QjeC8Z4fAy

Hey, @FallGuysGame. How do we get a Walmart vest cosmetic into your game?

Capitalising on the commercial interest from brands to jump aboard the Fall Guys train, Mediatonic launched an official charity contest on August 17.
🚨 Rules:
After 2 Weeks, the highest bidder will win!
We will DM to confirm any boring legal paperwork, and then after they donate, we’ll post it publicly to confirm!
If we decide that your brand is offensive/unsuitable, we will yeet your pledge out and pick the next highest!

A simple bidding war to determine which brand will make it into Fall Guys as a special costume. All proceedigns from the contest will be donated to SpecialEffect a UK-based charity that is levelling the playing field for gamers with physical disabilities.
Mr Beast, Ninja, G2 and more enter the ring
It did not take long for many to take up the call and pledge their support for SpecialEffect in order to get their hands on the exclusive costume. Many personalities and teams joined in the bidding war.
YouTuber Mr Beast was the first to cross over $100,000 with his bid. Esports teams like G2 and beastcoast then joined the fray, each holding the highest bid for a while before streamer superstar Tyler “Ninja” Blevins went up to $200,000.
I raise the bid to $200,000 in support of the charity @SpecialEffect this bad boy would look pretty clean too https://t.co/W7wCkcoHip pic.twitter.com/X2xsj8DLSP

Not to be outshined and really determined to get their costume into the game, G2 currently holds the lead with $330,003 pledged to SpecialEffect.
GOOD AFTERNOON GAMERS!
WE BID $330,003 https://t.co/V46MOOjEXj
— G2 Esports (@G2esports) August 19, 2020
Currently G2 is sitting securely in the lead for the exclusive costume, but there is still plenty of time for other hopefuls to outbid them. The bidding war will continue until August 31 and judging from its current pace we might see a very sizeable donation to SpecialEffect.
