Favorites MOUZ NXT convincingly win WePlay Academy League playoffs
MOUZ NXT started off their run in the upper bracket of the playoffs, where they first faced Astralis Talent. The latter made an insane run in the play-in stage of the tournament following groups, qualifying despite ending 2-6 in groups. Astralis Talent did give MOUZ NXT some issues, especially on Nuke (13-16), before succumbing on MIrage (16-12) and Vertigo (16-12). In the other half of the bracket BIG Academy breezed past Spirit Academy despite dropping Dust II.
In the Upper Bracket final MOUZ NXT had no issues dealing with BIG Academy on Inferno (16-10) and Ancient (16-12). Again it was Kamil ‘siuhy’ Szkaradek who shone brightly for MOUZ NXT alongside Jon ‘JDC’ de Castro. After defeating Astralis Talent in the lower bracket, BIG Academy would make it back to the Grand Final, where they again lost out to MOUZ NXT, this time on Vertigo (16-12) and Ancient (16-9) once more.
By winning MOUZ NXT takes home $45.000 out of the $100.000 prize pool, while BIG Academy (2nd) earns $20.000. The victory again shows how strong the current MOUZ NXT roster is, with the organization during IEM Katowice, bringing in JDC to fill in for Bymas who is currently suffering a case of COVID.
