FaZe eliminated from BLAST Premier Spring Final after a shocking roster move

FaZe Clan entered the BLAST Premier Spring Final after subbing out one veteran CS:GO presence for another.

FaZe Clan’s roster troubles have seen several moves in the online era, subbing out iconic names regularly. Most recently, Marcelo “coldzera” David was rotated out of the starting roster in favor of Olof “olofmeister” Gustafsson. Olofmeister, most famous for his time on Fnatic, was expected to either retire or switch rosters after his time on the FaZe starting roster ended.

Shockingly, FaZe put the veteran CS:GO star back in the lineup after a series of middling results. It seems that underwhelming results have followed the international roster, regardless of their roster changes.

FaZe fall against G2

A 1-2 series against G2 Esports made FaZe the latest team to fall out of the BLAST Premier Spring Final event. G2 struck first blood on Ancient (16-10), despite Helvijs “broky” Saukants’ best efforts on the map. FaZe put up a significantly better fight on Inferno, Olofmeister keeping pace with the rest of the roster. Broky once again had a remarkable performance, finding 24 total frags and an impressive 82.1% KAST.

After equalizing the series, FaZe seemed to fall apart on the final map. A 4-10 start on CT-Side saw all FaZe members collectively fall. G2 were able to quickly close out the game with a perfect CT-side.

Natus Vincere get another shot at Gambit

Gambit and Natus Vincere have battle for CIS supremacy for almost the entirety of the online CS:GO era. Internationally, Gambit have undoubtedly come out on top. The most recent head-to-head between the teams ultimately culminated in a 3-0 for Navi and a DreamHack Masters trophy win.

Gambit have since dramatically increased their overall level of play and found the IEM Summer 2021 title for themselves. After a win versus BIG, we’ll get to see the next chapter in this already storied domestic rivalry on the international stage.
