FaZe once again knock Empire into the lower bracket, Rokkr and Ultra triumph

Another chapter in the most competitive rivalry in CDL history once again went to FaZe.

Once again mirroring the Stage I playoffs, Dallas are poised to compete in the lower bracket finals against either Rokkr or Ultra for yet another shot at FaZe.

FaZe gets another series win against Empire

Though once Dallas Empire were the upstarts that managed to unseat the regular season champions, this seems like a faraway memory considering how recent series have gone. Once again taking the series 3-1, FaZe secured a chance to defend their title against whomever it may be meeting them.

Though competitive in the early stages, Atlanta took Hardpoint on Garrison with a commanding 250-155. Simp and Abezy lead FaZe into a 1-0 with 1:20 time on the Hardpoint each. Dallas Empire fired back to defeat FaZe in SnD on Express. Once again losing on SnD, FaZe have yet to win a single SnD match in the postseason.

FaZe managed to take the next two games of the series, FaZe sweeping Control on Raid, Cellium once again taking the spotlight with 25 total frags. The final game of the series came down to Hardpoint on Checkmate. This tight contest was contentious the whole game, Empire trailing but always keeping with reaching distance of FaZe. Ending 250-222, FaZe took their 4th consecutive Bo5 win over their persistence rivals.

OpTic Chicago and LA Thieves knocked out

Minnesota Rokkr and Toronto Ultra are set to meet again in another battle for the North. The last time these two met in the postseason, Toronto scraped by in a game 5 victory. Going into this matchup, Toronto Ultra certainly seem to be the favorite, defeating the surging LA Thieves 3-0 after knocking down Chicago OpTic.

Only falling to FaZe so far, Cammy has led his team to renewed strength in the playoffs and have a decent chance of having the opportunity to take on Dallas Empire.

Minnesota Rokkr meanwhile edged out Chicago OpTic 3-2, the tight contest coming off of great performances from the whole team across this long series. The series was a definition of a back-and-forth game, each victory won only on a knife’s edge. Ultimately, the last game, SnD on Moscow, could have gone either way but Attach and Accuracy pulled out the win for Rokkr.
