An interesting day of matches for the third group of the BLAST Premier Spring 2021, as FaZe wiped the floor with Liquid while NAVI took down MIBR.
In the first match of the day NAVI took on the new roster of MIBR. While NAVI looked very strong on Mirage, ending the match with a 16-11 score after leading the entire game, they struggled on Train and lost 7-16 to MIBR. Led by S1mple, they recovered and regained their form on Dust II, where they would run away with the series victory following a dominant 16-6 win.
Perhaps even more interesting was the game between FaZe and Liquid. The latter is still getting adjusted to playing with FalleN while the former recently added Twistzz. Dust II started out very even, with Faze leading 8-7 at the break. After the break Liquid struggled more, allowing FaZe to take the first game 16-11. On Nuke however, all hell broke loose. While Liquid won the first round, Faze, led by Twistzz and broky, won 14 (!) rounds in a row. After halftime they won two more consecutively, ending the game on a painful 16-1 victory.
Later today (16:30 CET) we’ll get to see the upper bracket final between NAVI and FaZe, which should prove to be quite interesting considering their current form. MIBR and Liquid will be playing in the lower bracket (19:30 CET), with especially the latter having something to prove after that final Nuke map.
