Final RMR events of 2021 set to be hosted by IEM Fall

The last Regional Major Rankings tournaments will be in the hands of ESL now.

Announced earlier today, ESL will be the hosts of the six remaining Regional Major Rankings (RMR) events. The six regional competitions will be entirely run by ESL, granted by Valve. In addition to this, the European RMR is planned to be hosted on LAN while the rest will continue to be played remotely. This will be only the second tournament to be played in-person since the start of the online era.

This RMRs will be the last opportunity teams will have to gain points, which ultimately lead into the PGL CS:GO Major. This will be the first major in over a year, and is also planned to be held in-person. The cutoff is coming soon however and for many, this will be the deciding qualifier. The EU RMR will feature a full, 24 team qualifier while NA and CIS will both have 12 teams competing. South America, Asia, and Oceania will each only see 4 teams competing. All six qualifiers will be held at the IEM Fall competition.

Qualification for the IEM Fall RMR is solely determined by standings within their domestic region. Not all the regions have fully fleshed out who will be competing, but the final invites are set to be handed out soon. Across the six regions, there will be a total $255,000 prize pool that each team will fight for along with extra points for PGL.
