Choose your faction carefully
Like other MMOs, factions have consequences. There are three primary factions, The Syndicate, The Marauders, and The Covenant. Each faction controls designated areas of the map that vary depending on the server. Factions also restrict themselves to specific guilds. Though you can switch factions every 120 days, you should be confident in your choice of faction as it will follow you around for quite a while.
Quest outside of the main storyline
Storyline related quests are obvious and the main objective as far as questing goes, however they are not the only option. Town Missions and Faction Quests also offer significant XP boosts, gear, and a bit of story. You can pick up your first town quest after reaching the first settlement and once you pick a faction their quests become available as well.

Home ownership is surprisingly beneficial to players who save up enough to purchase one. Homes come at a variety of price points and sizes but offer roughly the same benefits. Firstly, it provides significantly more storage space than you inherently carry. Second, your house acts as a recall point similar to that of an inn. Third, you get to customize your space however you wish.
