The matches in group A of the ESL Pro League Season 13 continue as BIG continues their slump while FunPlus Phoenix rebounds against Renegades.
In the first match of day 2 FunPlus Phoenix took on Renegades. Both teams suffered a loss the day before against Complexity and Heroic respectively. FPX, with Miikka “suNny” Kemppi in the line-up went on to beat Renegades on Nuke (16-11) and Dust II (16-9). Both SunNy and Jesse “zehN” Linjala were the big performers for FPX. Renegades has not been able to pick up a win so far.
The match between Complexity and OG promised fireworks and it delivered on that promise. The first map, Inferno, went to overtime as Complexity pulled ahead largely thanks to a great performance by Benjamin “blameF” Bremer and Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke. As the teams moved on to Mirage, things were closely contested at the half. Complexity eventually went on a 6-round streak to close out the map 16-10 and move to the top of the group.
Joining them at the top is Heroic, who battled BIG in a back-and-forth series. Heroic started strong on Nuke, going up 13-2 at the half, as they held off a BIG comeback, winning the map 16-12. Mirage on the other hand went the way of BIG, as they dominated Heroic all the way through in a 16-7 win. It all came down to Vertigo, where Rasmus “sjuush” Beck helped Heroic take home the win.
