It’s expected that ChrisJ will become the In-game leader for FunPlus Phoenix as well as the captain, providing a ton of experience to the newly acquired roster. The 30-year-old has had an extensive career in Counter-Strike and will find one of his former teammates on the roster in the form of Martin “STYKO” Styk. If everything goes well the new FunPlus Phoenix roster, including ChrisJ, should make their debut at the DreamHack Open Europe January today.
Our last piece of the puzzle for the first tournament of 2021 is ready📍
Please welcome chrisJ to stand-in and fight with us for the DreamHack Open! Let the Phoenix fly even higher boys!
The move isn’t that big of a surprise, as ChrisJ was looking for a new team after being moved to the inactive line-up over at mousesports. The organization is reportedly looking to further overhaul its CS:GO roster, following rumors around Finn “Karrigan” Andersen as well. Mousesports already announced his replacement earlier this week, which is Frederik “acoR” Gyldstrand, who is transferring over from MAD Lions.
It’ll be interesting to see what ChrisJ can do among this new line-up after a rather difficult 2020 season for him following the departure of Özgür “woxic” Eker from mousesports. As he now heads up the FunPlus Phoenix roster, he’ll have the chance to put all his experience to good use.
