Gambit sweep Navi to claim the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2021 Championship
The BLAST Premier Spring Final 2021 concluded with an all too familiar result, Gambit out on top.
Gambit have claimed their second title in a row, following IEM Summer 2021 with a matching BLAST title. Though Navi had a hard road to the finals, they ultimately could not finish the job at the final hurdle.
G2 fail to make finals
Ahead of the grand finals, G2 fell in a 1-2 series to Natus Vincere to decide who would face the eventual champions. Navi led off the series with a landslide victory on Mirage (16-9). G2 managed a respectable comeback on Dust2, as Nemanja “nexa” Isakovic led his team’s efforts.
Even disregarding that last clutch, @s1mpleO was the MVP of that series 🔥
G2’s finals hopes were dashed on map three, Nuke (16-13). Off of Nikola “NiKo” Kovac’s back, G2 were only marginally behind and kept the map as close as possible. A strong T-side from Navi however locked them in for a grand finals appearance.
Gambit defeat Navi (again)
The CIS squads second meeting in the knockout stage proved more of a one-sided series than the first. Gambit set the tone of the series early, ending their T-side 10-5. Sergey “Ax1Le” Rykhtorov played a massive role in the ultimate 16-12 ending to give Gambit the early lead.
Gambit took the final map in a similarly dominant fashion, ending the series with a 16-11 victory on Mirage. After the series, IGL and consistent fragger Abay “Hobbit” Khasenov was named the overall event MVP. Claiming their sixth straight finals and second consecutive event title, Gambit have proven that they stand alone at the top of the CS:GO mountain.
