Recompile is a science fiction themed Metroidvania given form in 3D, which features lots of puzzles and action. In the game you’re guiding some athletic software program throughout the Mainframe, which you must navigate to bring four sectors back online. If you’re a fan of platforming and rewarding gameplay all while a story is unfolding and falling into place right in front of your eyes, Recompile has got you covered.
Quake – Remastered 2021 (PC, Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S)
You might be wondering what the hell Quake is doing on this list, but there’s a great reason to revisit it. Bethesda has released a fully revamped version of the game featuring almost all of the official DLC, ideal for reliving your youth or exploring a franchise that was a building block in gaming today. For those who don’t know, Quake sees you navigate maze-like medieval environments, all while taking on monsters using different kinds of weapons. Oh, and it’s multiplayer is legendary and one of the first great esports titles, so take a shot at it.
Twelve Minutes (Xbox One, PC, Project Scarlett)
Twelve Minutes is an interactive thriller which sees a man trapped in a time loop, reliving the same twelve minutes (what’s in a name) over and over. You’re learning something new every loop as you progress towards solving the mystery. The voice acting in the game is provided by some top-tier actors, such as James McAvoy, Daisy Ridley and Willem Dafoe. A fun game to keep you hooked during the weekend.
