Games to watch – How did Recompile, Quake Remastered and Twelve Minutes do?

Recompile (PC, PS5, Project Scarlett)

Recompile, the science fiction themed Metroidvania, was met with mostly positive to mixed reviews. While most people agreed that Recompile isn’t a bad game, there’s little to set it apart from others who do the style better, with most people agreeing that while it’s competent, it can be a little bland. Twitch numbers seem to reflect this, with the game stalling in 1325th place when it comes to ranking by viewers.

Twelve Minutes (Xbox One, PC, Project Scarlett)

Twelve Minutes did amazingly well. The story-driven thriller boasted favorable reviews while also being a hit on Twitch. In the past 3 days it was the number 10 most viewed game on the platform and was 7th when it came to peak viewers over the weekend (359,334), with many top streamers trying their hand at the game.

Quake – Remastered 2021 (PC, Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S)

Quake did quite well as the remaster was released, with some streamers trying to relive some multiplayer history. Reviews were quite favorable for the game as well, with many people noticing how much you actually get for the low 10$ price tag. On Twitch, Quake sat at about 43,225 hours watched, which is a 6,304% increase from the usual hours watched. It’s safe to say the remastered edition did have a surefire impact.
