Ghost too strong – How Warzone Perks should be fixed
Cold War has been integrated into Warzoen for quite a while now, but the perks in Warzone are still based on Modern Warfare’s Multiplayer. This current setup really needs more adjustments if you look at the usage rates.
Slot 1 – Better go fast
The statistics site WZ Ranked shows the how many players pick a specific perk. Roughly 50% of players use Double Time, which allows you to sprint for longer and crawl faster. But even considering that slot 1 is still the most balanced as second place is E.O.D with 29% and third place Cold-Blooded follows with 15%.
7% of players also use Quickl Fix, which lets you heal faster after a kill. Kill Chain and Scavenger are basically irrelevant as they have almost no use in Warzone. So how to fix this? Slot 1 is still a bit competitive in terms of choices so the amount of adjustments needed is the lowest. One change could be upgrading Cold-Blooded to also prevent Heart Rate Sensors from detecting you. As of now that perk is part of Ghost in Slot 2.

Slot 2 – It’s all the same
Slot 2 is the one that needs a lot of work. There are only two perks that players are interested in: Overkill and Ghost. Usually players start with Overkill to upgrade to better weaponry fast before changing to Ghost later on to hide from Drones and Heart Rate Sensors.
To make Slot 2 more competitive we need not only the slight nerf to Ghost suggested earlier. High Alert could also need a buff. Currently it just shows you the direction from which opponents can see you. One way to improve it would be letting you hear footsteps despite Dead Silence. This should help bring in terms of giving more viable options in Slot 2.
The other perks in Slot 2 need to be completely reworked. None of them can currently compete with either Ghost or Overkil..
Slot 3 – It’s not that important really.
The last slot is also the most imbalanced one. With 66% Amped dominates the third perk as it allows you to change weapons faster and reload rocket launchers faster as well. This helps a lot in Warzone as you often need to switch weapons. Second place in this slot is Tracker. Only 21% of players use it to see footprints of opponents.
All the other perks only have two to four percent usage. Just like in Slot 2 none of these are even worth it in fights. Battle-Hardened woudl be worth it if people were to actually use secondary grenades, but the Heart Rate Sensor is too dominant for that to happen. A lot of work is needed here to make the choice of perks more than just a no-brainer.
