Halo Infinite overview – Here is everything you need to know
After branching out into strategy and arcade games the Halo series is finally getting the sequel fans have awaited for so long. The story continues and players can expect a modern multiplayer experience.
The story of Halo Infinite follows the previous part Halo 5: Guardians. The campaign received a gameplay trailer last year:
General information – price, platform, etc.
Halo Infinite will be released for PC and Xbox. The game is already listed on Steam and Xbox. Since the Halo franchise belongs to Microsoft and is usally an Xbox exclusive title, it is most likely that Infinite will not release on any other platforms.
You only need to pay for the singleplayer. There is no official information regarding the price but the German Gamestop site listed the game for 69,99 €. If you just want to have some action in a multiplayer environment you do not have to pay at all.
Halo Infinite’s multiplayer will be free to play and release as a seperate instance. It will not have lootboxes or any other random microtransactions. The paid items will be purely cosmetic and some can be obtained by playing as well.
Take a look with into the multiplayer with the official trailer:
The size of the FPS title got leaked as well. Since August 8th screenshots are circulating on many sites which show some details about the game.
Halo Infinite will probably be a hit on Twitch too. But how did Twitch became the most popular streaming service?
Release
There is not any official information regarding the release date. However this date may have been leaked by the Mexican Xbox Twitter account. There is a post in collaboration with the doughnut company Krispy Kreme which displays a Halo themed doughnut.
¿Por qué esperar a noviembre si podemos comenzar los festejos ya?
In addition the description praised the 30 year anniversary of Halo in November. Many fans suspected a release in autumn, so it is most likely that Halo Infinite will be released in November.
Gameplay from the beta
Some gameplay for Halo Infinite is already available. In the first public beta, testers could play against bots together. YouTubers like jackfrags recorded some gameplay and shared their first hands-on experience:
Features of Halo Infinite
Halo Infinite has everything modern titles can offer. It will be a game as a service, providing new content with a seasonal system. Of course, there is a battle pass which will grant players cosmetic items.
This battle pass will be different from other games since it will not expire. Other games’ passes usally last for their current season and prevent any further progress once the season is finished. To prevent some stressful grinding the developers allow you to unlock every item, even when the season is finished.
You can take longer breaks as well, since players will be able to buy passes from previous seasons and catch up on the old content. The online community is already praising this new system, hoping other games will implement it too.
Of course, you do not have to buy the battle pass. You can earn skins like the new Yoroi samurai skin simply, by playing the game. Head of Creative Joseph Staten ensures that the events of Season 1 will be sufficient to unlock the armor.
Battle Royale mode?
The developers have not shared any information about a Battle Royale yet. However this leaked voice line raises suspicion, as it was datamined from the beta.
It is not known if this audio data is a fragment of an old idea or part of the Forge mode. Fans are hoping for such a mode since this leak teases a Battle Royale.
